Here is a little advise on what to look for when researching a veternarian.
While searching for a reputable veternarian, please make sure you get references. In my experience, not all vets have their priorities straight. Here are just a few tips that you may find useful. First, make sure that the vet is as good as he / she says they are buy investigating the references to the extent. You will find that some vets are in it for the money instead of for the pet. Second, ask as many people as you need to about how this vet is with pets. Stay away from vets that want to push procedures on you that you really don't need to begin with. If for any reason a vet wants to do a procedure that you are not sure about, then get a second opinion. If you don't feel comfortable with a vet, there is probably a good reason...go with that feeling. I have found in my years of owning pets and raising puppies that an older veternarian is the best. A vet that has been in business for quite a few years usually has their priorities right and are out for the good of your pet. In short...Be careful and good luck in your search.
Skunk Remedy:
If you pet gets sprayed by a skunk, don't freak. Just use these ingredients to kill that funky smell.
1 part Baking soda.
1 part Peroxide.
1 part Ivory dish detergent.
Mix these ingredients to make a shampoo type paste (not too thick or too thin). Cover your pet from the tip of his/her nose to the tip of his/her tail. Let stand for between 5 and 10 minutes. Rinse. Repeat if necessary.
Bad breath, clean mouth:
Place 1 (one) drop of Tea Tree Oil in the side of your pets mouth. Caution- Your pet WILL NOT like it!!!
This disinfects the pets mouth, just like using Listerine.
Need to kill fleas and ticks, but don't want to use pesticides. Use this remedy and you won't have to.
Use Ivory, Dawn, Joy dish detergents like a shampoo. Wet your pet thoroughly from tip of nose to tip of tail. Lather pet with Ivory, Dawn or Joy detergent (don't hesitate to make the lather thick). Let pet stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed.
